It begins (again)

Welcome to my new blog!
It is my first in over a decade having got distracted hanging out on social media for a while there. But if now is not time to seize control of our own narratives, then it never will be.
Here I’m going to be testing out bits of writing on you, show you projects I’m working on and sharing what I know about books, reading, creativity, literacy and learning.
Please join my newsletter list if you would like to be kept up-to-date, especially if you think I might be a useful resource for your school or community group (I will be!).
Just scroll down a bit to find the sign-up form.

A bit about me and what I do.
I’m an educator and facilitator with over 15 years classroom experience. My interests are wide ranging but always come back to reading and writing.
I have done a great deal of work in the science of reading area, particularly in teaching teenagers to read. I also have interests and experience in neurodiversity, signwriting, steam technology and thinking about what to eat next . And if you think there’s a neurotype evident here well, I’m not going to contradict you.
I completed my Masters degree in Children’s Literature where I wrote a thesis on the complications of Holocaust fiction for middle-grade readers. Boy-howdy. That’s a whole series of posts right there.
You can always check out my LinkedIn profile or About page if you’d like to know more.

Please, stay tuned!
